In Meto a lot of the children that are bright and motivated and have the potential to get a degree from highschool, but because of lack of school fees, they often cannot get education at all and cannot realize their potential & dreams. Girls are still underprivileged in Massai culture, only 5% will go on to secondary school after graduating from primary school (the reasons are partly cultural, but mainly financially!)
We just started a scholarship program to help families from Meto and surrounding areas send their children in school.
For $35 a month you can send a child to the local high school in Meto for an entire year. This will pay for the student's school fees, uniform, shoes, books, housing, and food.
